The easiest ways to get to Grenoble

  • fly to Paris and then train (TGV) to Grenoble.
  • fly to Lyon airport, and take the bus shuttle (~30-40 euros 2-ways -- see below) or TGV train (~ price order)
    • prices for the train (two ways) vary quite a lot: from 50 euros to 250 euros
    • train tickets should be obtained through the national railways company (SNCF) website: www.oui.sncf
    • note that there are trains leaving directly from Charles de Gaulle to Lyon (only a few ones)
    • note also that the SNCF also operates buses, which are much cheaper than the train

There is also the possibility to fly to Marseille airport and then take a train to Grenoble, but this is not an easy way.

Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport bus shuttle
You can purchase the tickets on-line (prefered way - cheaper fares). However, you will be able to purchase the tickets at the airport directly (the ticket office is close to the bus departure location). Tickets remain valid up to two hours after the schedule in case of delays. Actually, they tend to let you come onboard if the bus is not full (rare) even after two hours.

How to move in and around Grenoble ?

Public transportation in Grenoble (bus, tramway)

Public transportation around Grenoble (cheap and reliable mean to move in the Vercors, Chartreuse, Belledonne moutains)

Bicycle (3 euros / day, all inclusive)

How to reach the Campus ?

Bicycle is nice, and tramway (B and C lines) is extremely easy. From downtown, take the tramway B.

- the tram station "Les taillées universités" (for the tram line B)
- the tram station "Gabriel Fauré"  (for the tram line C)
